🔔Have you ever heard church bells ringing and wondered what they truly mean?

In medieval Christian writings, bells were called “Vox Dei,” or the “Voice of God.” Not because the metal itself speaks, but because what they announce is holy. They call the faithful to prayer, mark the hours of the day, and proclaim God’s presence in the world.

One of the most beautiful ways they do this is through the Angelus. Heard at 6am, noon, and 6pm, the Angelus is a short prayer remembering the moment the Word became flesh in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This short prayer invites us to pause, reflect, and enter into the mystery of the Incarnation. In just a minute, we are reminded: God chose to dwell among us. God is near. God is present in our day.

If you hear the bells, consider stopping for a brief moment. Pray the Angelus, or simply lift your heart to God and say, “Thank You for coming into the world for me.”

💙There are so many beautiful reminders of His love for us!🙏
